[About the birth of Basque cheesecake]

Plan•Do•See started selling Basque cheesecake in 2016.
The now famous Basque cheesecake was first sold in 2016, when it was still unavailable in Japan and Plan•Do•See was the first to start selling it in Japan.

The story of this Basque cheesecake began with the desire of a female pastry chef to create an iconic dessert for Plan-Do-See.

We visited the gourmet city of San Sebastian to research desserts that are loved around the world.
San Sebastian, a port city in the Basque region of Spain, is not a large city of about 60 km², but it is packed with famous Michelin-starred restaurants.
We ordered the cheesecake recommended by the locals, but what came out was a pitch black dessert that looked like a lump of charcoal.
It looked nothing like a regular cheesecake, so I was a little hesitant to take a bite...

The fragrant aroma reminiscent of caramel and the smooth texture of the cheese made me shocked by how delicious it was after just one bite.

Upon returning to Japan, I went through a process of trial and error to somehow deliver this deliciousness to our customers...
Finally, one year later, in 2016, it began being served in restaurants.

After it went on sale, it quickly became Plan•Do•See's most popular dessert.
At the time, Plan•Do•See did not advertise, so the company gained popularity only through social media and word of mouth.
The number of customers coming to eat Basque cheesecake has increased.

Even after we started selling it, we continued to listen to customer feedback and make improvements, which is what led to the Basque Cheesecake we know today.

Please try this Basque cheesecake with such a story behind it.
