[EVENT] ART RELAY PROJECT
This project (hereafter referred to as ARP) was the realization of an idea from one of our staff members. It all started when he was traveling around the world.
When he traveled to New York, he visited the Soho area, where there were many galleries. Works by famous artists and unknown artists alike were lined up throughout the city, and the area was bustling with people choosing and purchasing what they liked. In Japan, there are few opportunities to encounter such art on the streets, and above all, it seems that many people are insecure about their own aesthetic sense. However, there are many wonderful works of art in the world that are still unknown. And we want people to have confidence in their own taste and to be more free to choose and talk about the works they like. We would like to help add color to the moments when our customers stop by with art that stimulates their senses...
ARP was started with this idea. We hope that by coming into contact with wonderful works and the thoughts of the artists, everyone's lives will be enriched. We will spread this culture from THE LUIGANS.
ART RELAY PROJECT.
ART RELAY PROJECT Vol.10
The Art Relay Project, which started in 2021, is now in its 10th volume. The commemorative 10th volume will be displayed by "tiki". The theme of the work is children holding an empty treasure chest. What do you feel from the expressions on the children's faces? It is a fascinating work that draws the viewer in.
Tiki has an unusual career history, having previously played as a soccer player in Germany.
In Germany, people have a high level of interest in environmental and social issues, and Tiki himself says that his life in Germany has made it easy for him to think about various issues.
He has made donations to and engaged in support activities for children in slums in the past, and continues to work as an artist with a focus on improving the environment for children through art and expanding the options for each child.
You can really feel Tiki's passion in the works that are born from this idea.
We hope you will come and see the colors and brushstrokes created by layering oil paints in multiple layers.

While playing soccer as a player in Germany, league games were cancelled due to the new coronavirus, and he temporarily returned to Japan. During his return to Japan, he was so struck by the artwork he saw on SNS that he decided to give up soccer, which he had played for 18 years, and began his artistic career. Since the beginning of his career, he has consistently drawn children with empty treasure chests, and has expressed them in various ways, from two-dimensional works to a series of sculptures (three-dimensional works) created by creating 3DCG images of children. In April 2022, he visited a slum in Thailand by himself and went from house to house in the slum to donate food to the children there. The ultimate goal is to improve the children's environment through art. The company's ultimate goal is to improve the environment of children through art, and to expand the options available to each child.

ART RELAY PROJECT Vol.9
The person who will be decorating the museum for this art relay project is Eito Kusaba, a potter at Sogama, a pottery studio in Arita Town, Saga Prefecture.
His works, which stood out among others at the Arita Pottery Fair held every year during Golden Week, caught our eye, and we approached him to participate in this Art Relay Project, which led to the exhibition.
Up until now, we have exhibited many paintings, but we hope you will experience art in the new genre of "tableware."

Since 2015, he has been actively engaged in pottery making at Sougama, achieving numerous accomplishments, including winning the runner-up prize at the AMAKUSA Ceramics Contest and the Nishinippon Shimbun Award at the Arita International Ceramics Exhibition.
Sougama
Founded in 1984.
Among Arita ware, it is rare for its use of a technique called "neriage." Instead of painting on molded vessels as is commonly imagined, patterns are drawn with colored clay and then molded into vessels. This technique also creates patterns on the inside of the vessel, allowing you to enjoy the design from any angle, both front and back.

[The Blue Love]
As artists, we often communicate by improvising drawings on SketchBook. Although these works are rarely published in general, the sensibilities of each artist are mixed, and in a sense many wonderful paintings are created that cannot be created by one person alone. We take turns drawing and expressing each other on a piece of paper...
When creating such paintings, the theme is "love". We replaced our sensibilities with the word "Blue" and named this project TheBlueLove. By focusing on the theme and continuing to write without making a draft, the paintings are completed through a mix of creativity. Just as each person has their own way of understanding love, it would be great if everyone could enjoy the story of the finished painting in their own way!

ARTIST ROOM #330 by Ginsoda
“Sea of memories -personal space-”
_____
Based on the casual question, ``What will remain in life?'', I have created a work based on the theme of ``visualization of memory and time'', which depicts the ocean of memories that exist within people. I believe that its form is constantly changing and nurturing itself.
Everyday memories, memories that become vague, memories that have been forgotten, and the sea of memories that is created when all of these fragments are mixed together, and like the sea and sky that we know, we always share the world with someone. I also think that this is something that is being done.
And the presence of blue is indispensable in expressing the sea of memories. Colors contain a lot of information, so I purposely narrowed down the colors, but even blue alone has a variety of expressions of happiness, anger, sadness, and happiness, and blue, which is the color of the sea and sky, has a continuation. Blue, the color of possibility that exists at the passing points of things, may be able to weave memories and time and show us the other side that we have not yet seen.
To create this ARTIST ROOM, I actually stayed at Luigan's for 4 nights and 5 days and enjoyed interacting with the guests and staff. In my daily work, I face myself, but by placing myself in an unusual place, I had the time to face myself more carefully, and I experienced the creative power of space.
ARTIST ROOM #330 "Sea of Memory -personal space-" was created there. We would be very happy if you could share a part of your life with us in the future.

Based on the theme of "visualizing memory and time", the work takes shape from the sea of memories that exist within people. She believes that time is not something that is given to him, but something that he creates himself, and that creating works of art is an act of creating time. Works based on blue are called "Ginsoda Blue," and blue, the color of possibility, is indispensable for expressions that stimulate creativity.
As a member of the Building Preservation and Utilization Project (DGY General Incorporated Association), she operates the Daigaku-yu, a former public bath site in Hakozaki, Fukuoka, which is also our hometown, and serve as our base of activities.
[Message from the artist]
I feel that works of art are something that expands my creative possibilities, which change every day. You can enjoy changes every day, even if it's just one piece of work. I believe that the accumulation of such things becomes a space called time, which connects to the "sea of memories" that exists inside of us.
I am very happy that my work can exist in someone's daily life. I hope you enjoy your stay.

Born and living in Fukuoka.
He started graffiti around 2004 and began working as an artist in 2018. He is adept at creating works that make use of the knowledge and experience of materials he has cultivated through graffiti.
[Message from the artist]
I feel that LUIGANS. is a place where you can take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and spend your holidays elegantly. How can the street art I have cultivated in the graffiti genre affect and add color to the elegant space of LUIGANS.? Starting from that concept, I planned this exhibition.
The title "point of view" means "the view from the current point."
Spray, mirror, canvas, acrylic paint, photo collage and silk screen. In this exhibition, I use a variety of materials to construct my own worldview. I am not always bound to one art material or one style. I feel the initial impulse of a primary or secondary school student's sketchbook in this style of production. I would be happy if I could share the initial impulses that I have accumulated up to now and the scenery I have seen from them with the customers who visit LUIGANS.

Born in Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture
When I was in junior high school, I studied abroad in New Zealand for two years and realized the value of expressing myself colorfully and touched art for the first time. I majored in philosophy at university and philosophically explored what was important to me and what I should do in the future. After graduating from university, I focus on the art path and create art works every day. The theme is not 100% happy, but always self-conscious work that is not dark. It can be said that his work is characterized by being introverted and subjective. I still cherish the feeling that everyone did when I was a child, such as embodying the love in my head in two dimensions and not drawing it if I lost interest. If you continue to draw only what you like, people will want to know what you will draw in the end, so draw what you like "now". Each character has a small view of the world and I, as a writer, love them, but they don't particularly like me, so they have a serious or sullen expression.
